“The Dead Ones” cont.
I am now finished working for the independent film, “The Dead Ones”, unless they come across any last minute art needs during shooting, which, has already begun. Actually, they were shooting the last time I was there finishing up one last piece for them. All together I did 3 chalk pastel drawings, 1 fast acrylic painting, and a pencil sketch. All of which was actually very interesting to complete while actresses are practicing screaming bloody murder out in the hallways. This is one of the chalk pastel drawings that I liked the most, as well as the last one I posted, photographed on set.
I think one of the funniest moments for me was getting a tour around the set and walking into a room with a couple people working away under a bunch of really cool looking masks. They all waved and said hi as one girl calmly walks by with a huge deep bloody gash in her arm. Obviously I was shocked and honestly concerned at first before realizing… I was in the make-up special effects room. Haha, they were doing a good job to say the least. Anyway, I might share more funny moments I encountered once the movie is out, and it would no longer be a spoiler. I myself can not wait till it is released and I can see it! Over all this was an amazing opportunity and so much fun to do it wasn’t like “work” at all. I would be happy to get involved in film production and set fabrication again when possible.
***Update 8/15/09***

A few weeks after completing the artwork for the set I was called back by my set contact, production assistant, Eli Green. Since I had mentioned an interest while doing the artwork, I was given the opportunity to be an extra in the movie on the last day of shooting. Now, not only will my artwork be in this movie, but if you don’t blink, maybe you can see me in the movie too!It was an honor to meet and work with director Jeremy Kasten on this project, and I cant wait to see the movie when it will be released in spring 2010.
